Love in (year).
I fell in love and I wrote about it. I have continued to write about love.
I figured this might be a good place to share the love, in all the phases. I figured this was a good place to show how love flows into different forms.
This is the start of a series called: Love in (year).
This is what loved looked like in (the summer of) 2009.
In the soft blue-gray light of the evening moon I watched your body raise, then fall, rise, and fall once more into the deepest slumber.
I wanted more than anything to go down there and away with you, but I shook myself awake time and again so I could click more pictures for my mind to keep (for moments fade, you know).
Your breath was heavy, as if, in that moment, your breathing sustained two lives- yours and mine. The oxygen you provided was nothing my lungs had ever known.
The morning came with birds singing to the warm July sun, and everything I saw between the momentary collapse of my lids was perfection. As you slept, my lips screamed for yours. As not to disturb, I consulted imagination and with his assistance, we kissed in destinations that hadn't yet seen our footprints.
As you slept, I preoccupied my mind by connecting the freckles on your face to the freckles on mine. I sewed us together with invisible thread which became nothing but a tangled mess as your body readjusted. Soon we were a ball of yarn-- coloured with love, wound up tight, and strong enough to never be unraveled or snipped apart.
